and this trip south included a drive a nd wander further down memory lane and a trip "home" to Northumberland the land I grew up in before my first move north of the border.
my trip started at Boulmer beach
where we watched (what to the uninitiate) a tractor being driven out into the incoming tide
and once out far enough a small boat whizz over from a slightly larger boat to the tractor
they loaded the small boat onto the trailer and in they came. much easier than hauling the boat all the way up the beach beyond the tide
we then walked down the huge expanse of sand until...
we spotted the pirate ship and beat a hasty retreat!
