final galavanting with henrietta

I have loved my time with Henrietta but sadly she has to be retired due to no fault of hers and all to do with my dodgy knees!

so today I collected a newer car which is an automatic and much better for my knee I'm awaiting her telling me her name, I'm thinking she has a sense of humour as so far she has told me her name is ...

galavanting in the midlife crisis!

Last year I had to say goodbye to my  Ibiza 

it was with a heavy heart I left her at the scrap yard  but The Mother or The Nana depending on who Im speaking to rang The Brother and he came up with a midlife crisis car

so seeing as The Mother arranged the car for me I had to take her Galavanting first to Yetholm for lunch on a nice day  

then to the Castle gate (yip we're in a cemetery) putting flowers on dads grave 

then on mothers day a wee trip back home as in where I was brought up over the red road

with Cheviot behind and the sea in front  its a fabulous road over the northumberland moors

not actually the sun setting but the afterglow between 10.20 and 10.30pm 

I spotted the pink clouds to the east 

so grabbed the camera and headed to my sons gardne where i get a clear view west

and hoped that I want to late as these colours can be fleeting or can last for half an hour or more

luckily it lasted ages tonight and the colour just got better and better

at silly o'clock in the morning I finally saw some thing I have been looking for for a few years 

noctilucent clouds, bright white and blue and beautiful lighting up the sky  

Noctilucent clouds are the highest clouds in the Earth's atmosphere forming above 200,000 ft. They are typically too faint to be seen, but occasionally become visible during twilight when the sun is below the horizon and the clouds becomes illuminated. They usually take on a blue light

 These clouds are usually seen at latitudes between 45°N and 80°N in the Northern Hemisphere. and are thought to be made up of ice crystals

day 3 of horrid misty rain but the red hot pokers are still looking hot!

the canterbury bells are starting to suffere

oops this is the wrong way, they have been bashed down and are now lying along the ground

the fuschia bush hasn't been cut back the last 2 years so not as many flowers this year

and I cant wait to see what this new rose is like once it opens.

as the rain fell I decided it would be a great time to shoot the flowes

especially the petunias which seem to be melting in the wet conditions 

the clematis was looking very sparkly 

 the osteospermum couldn't decide if it was going to open or close

and most of the perennial cornflowers past I must find time on a dry day to dead head them and hopefully will get another blooming off them
